Liverpool are the only English club that didn’t manage to qualify for the next round of the competition and you reckon that they will be frustrated by that since they wound up coming so close. Just a slightly better performance would have opened things up for Brendan Rodgers men but they are genuinely having a tricky season and will be hoping that the 2015 part is a lot more fluent than the 2014.
The Champions League knockout stages feature two fixtures per day on the same Tuesday/Wednesday basis that we are used to right now.
The opening match-up is PSG vs Chelsea and this one will be a very enticing clash as both sids contain a number of stylish players who will be looking to make a big statement in the first leg of this affair. The bookmakers don’t see a huge amount between the two sides and they are just giving the edge to PSG, likely because they are the home side. The French team can be backed at an 8/5 margin while Chelsea are trading at a 9/5 price tag.
The draw sits at an 11/5 margin and there might not be too much between the two sides as many will be expecting a cagey affair in this one. Simply put, there will be so many potential match-winners on the pitch that virtually anything can happen - making this a tricky fixture to wager on from this far out.
Shakhtar Donetsk face off against the prohibitive favourites Bayern Munich in Ukraine and the host side are trading at a lengthy 6/1 to get the result against the high-flying German side who will be challenging for the title this year.
