With United now having a firm grasp on second place in the English Premier League and seemingly having little chance of catching cross-town rivals Manchester City - barring an epic collapse that would likely go down in history as one of the worst ends to the season for any team ever - so you have to assume that the Champions League is going to be the big prize for Jose Mourinho.

United are outright favourites for this one and are an even shorter favourite to progress to the next stage of the competition.

In the other match-up on Tuesday you’ve got a really interesting clash between Roma and Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in a contest that really pits a classy Italian side who play with lots of precision against a hard-hitting eastern European side.

The Italians are considered to be the side to beat here and there’s every chance that their class should shine through when it matters most in the run-in but the Champions League is a tough trophy to win for a reason and there is a good chance that the Ukrainians could spring an away surprise here.

You get the feeling that whoever scores the first goal here will definitely be in the drivers seat going forward.
