Champions League Outright Betting Tips Pt 1

As we get closer to the end of the 2013/14 Champions League Group Stages, we now have a much better portrait of just how things might be shaping up once we get into the round of sixteen in Europe’s Premier Club Competition. With Barcelona not exactly looking their world-beating selves at every moment this season it looks like it’s a real tight three-way race between Europe’s top continental sides.

Bayern Munich were able to pull things off last year and win the Champions League in a big way - something that certainly pleased the home fans. They remain the outright betting favourites to win the competition at this point as they have had a no-fuss, no-muss period through the qualification stages.

At the moment, punters will find a price of around 3.4 for Bayern Munich to repeat as Champions League winners. There is no reason why they can’t do it, and the quality line-up they have there boasts plenty of experience and desire - the benefits of a team that still contains many strong young players with lots to prove.

Behind Bayern, punters will find the likes of Barcelona looking like the next most likely winners of the 2013/14 Champions League. A 5.0 price awaits anybody who feels as though Lionel Messi & Co. can pull off yet another massive Champions League victory. They have plenty of quality but have looked a little short of themselves with Xavi and Iniesta showing their age in a similar fashion to Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic at Manchester United.

There is a lot to like about how the Catalan Club has been able to handle themselves in the competition during the past and they really do have every chance to pull it off, but you get the feeling that they will need to click in the quarter finals and maybe get a relatively soft draw, which is certainly possible as there are more than a couple easily-beatable sides who look like they could wind up in the Champions League Round of Sixteen.
