CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OVERVIEW- SEPTEMBER 28TH ODDS AND PREDICTIONS
This evening see's another enthralling chapter in the gripping tale that is the UEFA Champions league.
Things have gone largely to plan in the first few rounds, with tonight providing numerous opportunities for some great attacking football.
First up, Russian giants Spartak Moscow host Slovakian outsiders Zilinia. In one of the more one-sided match ups of the night, Spartak is expected to fare well here with Bet365 putting the home team as odds on favourites at 1.5, to Zilina's 7.5
In probably the most evenly contested match of the evening, AC Milan travel to Amsterdam to take on Dutch giants Ajax. Both of these teams have played attractive football so far this season, and such the bookies are having a tougher time calling this one.
William Hill has this one split right down the middle, with both XI set at 2.7- this is a wise one to stay away from
French club Auxerre will be up against it as they host Spanish superstar-ridden Real Madrid. Madrid have openly stated their intentions to break out of their Champions League hoodoo this season, and with natural wining manager Jose Mourinho at the helm- one would be foolish to not take this threat seriously.
The visitors are odds on to take this one at 1.57, to Auxerre's 6.0
Probably the pick of the lot, odds wise, is Swiss contingent Basel losing to German neighbours Bayern Munich. While Basel had a great run up to the knockout stages winning four in a row, before tasting a loss in their last game, one just can’t envisage them beating a side the calibre of Bayern. Munich is not low profile and are therefore a good bet to win at 2.0 even- an easy way to double your money. Munich will win this...and win well.
Portuguese club Braga host Ukraine's Shakhtar Donetsk in what is, again, considered to be a tight match up. Braga are favoured at 2.37, to Donetsk at 3.1. This is one of those ying-yang contests that could go either way, and again, if you are a 'safe' better probably one to stay away from
Chelsea will attempt to put a disastrous week behind them when hosting French outfit Auxerre at Stanford Bridge. This is by far the most one-sided clash with Chelsea a gimme at 1.33, to Auxerre at 10.0. This is money in the bank, and the safest of the lot.
Arsenal travel to Serbia tonight looking to put things right after a disastrous weekend loss to Premier League minnows West Brom. Wenger will be anxious to ensure some form of European consistency with tonight providing the perfect opportunity against a lacklustre Partizan Belgrade.
Arsenal will fancy their chances in this one, and should dominate to maintain their position at the top of the group. There are some decent odds in Arsenal's favour here at 1.67
In the final game of the evening Italian club Roma will dominate Romanian CFR Cluj. This will be a one sided affair in favour of the hosts, and will result in goals-a-plenty. Roma are favoured at 1.40, and the most sure thing on tonight’s fixture list.
While tonight presents some class clubs on display, many purists will be looking forward to these initial stages being wrapped up, so that the business end of the league is able to kick off
Until then, and specifically tonight, there are some great opportunities to make some serious money.
Betting Tip and Prediction: Accumulator of Arsenal and Bayern Munich to win at 3.42
