Champions League Spread Betting Preview

The final week of the Champions League group stage has thrown up some cracking fixtures with much at stake for three of the British sides. If you are thinking of having a punt on the games, then check out the spread betting prices offered by Sporting Index. They are running a wide number of markets on each game and offer some generous free bets for new clients. To help you get started, we asked their Senior Football Market Maker for his opinion on the key matches:Down to the Wire"The Gunners entertain Rosenborg at Highbury on Tuesday without Edu, Silva and the suspended Vieira. Despite the absence of these key players and Arsenal's recent loss of form, they should still have too much quality for the visitors. We've priced this one up in favour of the home team by a winning margin of 1.4 to 1.7 goals. Rosenborg have nothing to play for, not even a UEFA Cup place, and should struggle to contain an attack-minded Gunners line-up. The only question mark surrounding Wenger's men is their defensive frailties, but I can't see them slipping up even if the rookie Almunia plays in goal. "Although Celtic cannot qualify for the second phase, they need to get something at home against AC Milan in order to guarantee qualification for the UEFA Cup. Celtic tend to play above themselves in this competition, particularly at home, and should face an under strength Milan team. We fancy Celtic to edge this one by a winning margin of 0.2 to 0.5 goals. It's going to be tight, particularly as Milan still need to grab a point to guarantee top spot in the group, but I expect a narrow victory for the Bhoys."The other key match is Liverpool at home to Olympiakos. Group A is still wide open and much will hinge on the other game between Deportivo and Monaco. The Reds need to win by two goals to be certain of qualification, so expect plenty of attacking play from the home side. Creative players will be the key to success here; ones to watch will be Gerrard, Alonso and Rivaldo. With an abundance of attacking players on display for both sides, I would expect sharp punters to bet 'high' on our Total Goals market."It's going to be a very tough match for Liverpool; Olympiakos are hard to break down away from home. The Greeks are currently top of the group but could still go out if they lose and Monaco win. We predict Liverpool will shade this one by a margin of 0.8 to 1.1 goals. However in the other game, Monaco face a poor Deportivo side with nothing to play for. So, even with a victory at Anfield, I think the Reds could still go out of the tournament."Free £200 per Goal BetThat should have given you plenty to think about.
