CHAMPIONS LEAGUE T20 CRICKET ODDS AND BETTING TIPS: WINNER PART 2
The Highveld Lions are clearly out of their depth in a tournament of this nature. Bar McKenzie and Petersen this team simply will not compete. If you are going to be weighing in any bets on the South African contingents- you are safer doing them on individual scenarios per game. The South Australian Redbacks might be a good take for this one with Willam Hill putting them at 9.0, and Betfair at 10 even. The team is quality, boasting an in-form Shaun Tait on what is guaranteed to be pace-friendly wickets. Callum Ferguson also stands out as another match winner and with less pressure than some of the larger franchises...they could surprise a few punters. The Wayamba Eleven represent Sri Lanka with a decent team comprising match winners the likes of Mendis, Maharoof as well as Jayawardene. They are a well rounded outfit and could make it as far as the semi-final stages; however one feels that with a number of the bigger names now playing for Indian franchises that they just might not have the firepower to see them through. William Hill places them at 11.0 even.Long shots include the Central Districts side from the 'land of the long white cloud', as well as Guyana from the West Indies. Simply put...these teams are out of their league. They might compete at a national level, but this tournament is a step up and they simply will not be good enough. This is reflected with William Hill putting Guyana at odds of 26 to win, with central Districts at an even more unflattering 27.0.In summary- this team will be dominated by few...While everyone loves an underdog story, the fact remains that these teams are jam-packed with legends of the game...and they are legends for a reason. One would be hard pressed to bet against either an all-Indian final, or at the very least an Aussie-Indian encounter. I feel that the Chennai Super Kings have the best mix of firepower with regards to all round talent...and my money would be safely on them to romp home.
