Champions League Wednesday Betting Preview PT 1
- By A.J. Ryder on October 24, 2018 14:16 GMTWe had a really exciting day of action in the 2018/19 Champions League with a few really fascinating contests unfolding. The big focal point that everybody was watching was the Manchester United vs Juventus match-up that saw Cristiano Ronaldo return to his old stomping grounds at Old Trafford and the Italian side were able to walk away with a deserved 1-0 victory.
It’s going to be interesting to see how Jose Mourinho continues to build the team up and drive them towards success as he has been under fire recently by both the media and some of his players.
The ability for him to be able to almost pull off a massive victory against his old club, Chelsea, only to have their hopes dashed six minutes into extra time to see them get only a draw really shows how close he is to making everything click but he remains under pressure for now and it will be really interesting to watch how United approach the rest of their Champions League contest and the reverse fixture with Juventus in Italy as well.
Tuesday also saw Manchester City pull off an emphatic 3-0 victory away to Shakhtar Donetsk and they are flying high at the moment - both at the top of the English Premier League and in their Champions League group.
Despite having dropped points a couple of times there is a lot of excitement happening at that club right now and they look fully capable of pulling off a famous double this year to secure that coveted European trophy that their side has been longing for since their acquisition by Sheikh Mansour.
