Champions League Wednesday Preview

The Champions League knock-out stage continues again on Wednesday following Chelsea's relative dismantling at the hands of an upstart Napoli side. Managing to slot three past the Blues over the course of the fixture, Andre Villas-Boas' men face an uphill battle to remain in the competition. This is nearly certain to compound the pressure being heaped on the young manager – and it will be interesting to see if player power becomes part of the equation.

At the moment, it doesn't appear as though any English club will make it past the round of 16 – a sharp contrast to several recent years.
Inter Milan travel to Marseille today while Basel play host to Bayern Munich. We've seen several smaller teams put together genuinely excellent runs over the past several contests in this round and many previously obscure sides have been acquitting themselves well.
Marseille are getting the edge from the bookmakers for this one and they've priced them odds-on for the victory over the heavy-hitting Italian visitors. As it currently stands, you'll find Marseille trading at 10/11 while Inter sits at a hefty 10/3. Should the Italians be able to put together a good performance, their fans would do well to get a few quid down on this one.
The draw will be popular with the neutrals and that's priced at 11/5.
Basel are a full 5/1 to pull off a victory over Bayern Munich – a side who many expect to be challenging for top honours this year. Despite Barcelona continuing to emerge as the cornerstone side in the competition, you'll find them trading at very competitive odds to pull off a high-profile victory this season.
Munich are as short as 8/13 for today's victory.
