There is a lot to like about this iteration of Europe’s biggest football tournament and the betting odds are especially interesting as things appear to be genuinely wide open - with three major sides looming large as potential winners with a good crop of challengers just nipping at their heels.

Real Madrid and defending champions Bayern Munich are the main choices here bringing up the favourites position for the bookmakers - they trade at 5.0 to win the tournament proper and you reckon that with the quality of players at their disposal that both teams have a genuine chance of pulling it off.
Barcelona have recently signed Luis Suarez but he’s unable to actually play for them until later on in the fall - he was recently part of a Barca B team that won 6-0 in their opening fixture.
Punters will find the Catalan club trading at a 6.0 price tag and looking like an interesting outside bet if you don’t fancy them to be in a rebuilding phase and instead moving forward. With Neymar likely to be more settled, Lionel Messi just coming in off a great World Cup and Suarez likely to bang in the goals once he starts getting more regular outings for the first team.
After Barca, the odds take a bit of a jump to the three main outside contenders for the Champions League trophy. You’ll find PSG, Manchester City and Chelsea all priced at 11.0 to win the trophy and there is every chance that this could happen - particularly if one of the better-fancied sides slips up in the quarter finals or something like that as is a possibility.
