CHAMPIONSHIP FOOTBALL BETTING OVERVIEW- 2 OCTOBER 2010
The Championship has become far more interesting than the Premier league in that it is not always a battle of the top 3.
It is a league with promotion on the line, and as such produces some of the most thrilling football across the land.
First up the Welsh outfit of Cardiff make their way to Barnsley in what promises to be one of the more equally matched tussles of the day.
Second ranked Cardiff find themselves as slight favourites here with odds at 2.5, to that of hosts Barnsley at 2.8. The Welsh will take this today, building on a solid mix of attacking and defensive ability
Next up, the Canaries of Norwich make their way to Bristol City. Norwich will be looking to put this one away today in order to catapult themselves into the all important promotion zone.
Norwich are slight favourites here, despite Bristol currently sitting second bottom of the Championship. This could be the bet of the lot with Norwich at 2.8, to Bristol's 2.6
London derbies are something that always gets the fans licking their lips, and none more so than league high flyers QPR travelling east to tackle Crystal Palace.
QPR were held to a draw last week, however their current from ahs been nothing short of sensational of late, suggesting that this should be a one sided affair.
QPR are a good look- in here at 1.91, to Palace's long call at 4.0
In another one-sided call, Leicester will seek to get themselves off the bottom of the table when taking on Championship mid table clingers Scunthorpe United.
Leicester have had a nightmare campaign thus far; however will come right this afternoon at odds of 1.73
A former Premier League match up finds its way into the Championship today courtesy of Middlesbrough hosting Pompey. Portsmouth have finally managed (just) to grab themselves out of the relegation zone, and travel as outsiders
Middlesbrough are set at 2.1, however one might think that being only two places ahead on the table that they are there for the taking. Portsmouth would be more than able to oblige and at odds of 3.6- this could be a nice little earner
Reading travel to Preston able to put themselves within spitting distance of the promotion zone, with a win here today. This side is desperate to emulate the side that got them to the Premiership a few years ago, and travel as slight favourites
William Hill have them at 2.5, only slightly more conservative than that of their hosts at 2.75
This afternoon should be jam packed with action here and there should not be too many surprises. QPR look sold as anything this season, with the rest of the table being up for grabs.
Betting Tip: Norwich to beat Bristol City at 2.8
