There are still plenty of interesting permutations yet to unfold as we get closer to the end of the Championship season. The table is starting to solidify at this point with Cardiff having secured automatic promotion and winning the league seems to be nothing more than a formality at this point. They are standing atop the 24 team tournament with an 85 point haul with two real match days still remaining.

With two Welsh teams set to compete in the British Premier League next year, you get the feeling that we are entering something of a new era. Cardiff’s ownership have stated that they plan to spend in the summer but won’t be doing anything silly or spending a huge sack of borrowed dosh.
This weekend’s fixture sees Cardiff face off against promotion hopeful’s Bolton who are looking for automatic entry back to the Premier League after being relegated last year. They are currently holding onto the bottom play-off spot by just a solitary point over Leicester - and are two points ahead of Nottingham Forest who are still mathematically in the hunt.
Leicester face off against Watford, who are currently residing in third but have a chance at the second spot - and automatic qualification - if Hull blow their last two games. The Leicester/Watford fixture is, effectively, a six-pointer and could get Leicester firmly in position for a play-off campaign - especially if Cardiff take all three points against Bolton Wanderers.
The bookmakers are giving Cardiff the distinct edge to get the home victory here with a slim 7/5 price tag for the outright victory while Bolton can be backed at a 2/1 price. The draw trades at 11/5 and that’s not going to suit Bolton but would likely be enough for Cardiff.
Leicester are favoured to get the better of Watford in their clash on Friday and they are getting hit late by the punters with bookmakers trimming them into 11/10. Watford are available at a 12/5 listing and the draw is priced identically. This fixture is likely to be all about who scores the early goal.
