Chelsea march on

Chelsea are now as short as 1/9 to lift the Premiership title after Jose Mourinho's side claimed another maximum at the weekend. The league leaders rarely looked in danger as a Didier Drogba brace and a goal from Arjen Robben sealed a 3-0 home win over Portsmouth. The win maintains the west Londoners' over second placed Arsenal at 10 points with 14 matches left to play. Arsenal won 1-0 at Highbury against Newcastle and third placed Manchester United beat Aston Villa 3-1 at Old Trafford. "Chelsea have not dropped a point in the Premiership since drawing at Arsenal at the beginning of December and if you look at their upcoming fixture list you'd have to think that they are going to maintain that league record for some time," said VC Bet's Nick Blezard. Birmingham, Blackburn, Manchester City and Everton are Chelsea's next four league opponents. 16-goal Thierry Henry remains as VC Bet's favourite to finish the 2004/5 season as the top Premiership scorer. The Arsenal front man is chalked up at a restrictive 1/5 with Crystal Palace's 14-goal striker Andy Johnson rated the firm's 5/1 second favourite. Jermain Defoe and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (both 10 goals) are chalked up at 16/1, with Didier Drogba (also 10 goals) 20/1.
