Chelsea now just 1/7 to win Premiership
Chelsea are now just 1/7 for the Premiership title after Jose Mourinho's side again tightened their grasp on English football's top flight. Saturday's 2-0 victory over Spurs at White Hart Lane saw the west Londoners stretch their lead on second place to 10 points after rivals Arsenal were beaten 1-0 at Bolton. "Arsenal have again failed to deliver the goods and it is becoming increasingly unlikely that they are going to apply any of the necessary pressure on Chelsea now," said VC Bet's football man Nick Blezard. "Ten points is a huge lead for side as resilient, powerful and confident as Chelsea." Arsenal are now out to 13/2 for the title with third placed United 8/1 after their crucial 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield. Liverpool keeper Jerzy Dudek was at fault as he let a 25-yard Wayne Rooney strike slide past him into the net. Sir Alex Ferguson's side are 11 points behind the league leaders with 15 matches left to play. Blezard looked ahead to United's Old Trafford Carling Cup clash with Chelsea on January 26 as a decent opportunity to score some much needed psychological points. "If United can win that game it will put a new perspective on the Premiership season. "All of a sudden doubts might start creeping into the Chelsea players' minds.," he said.
