CHELSEA VS INTER MILAN LAST MINUTE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
Despite being down in the draw, Chelsea are considered favourites to win the home tie against their high-profile former manager Jose Mourinho. Top UK bookmaker William Hill has priced Chelsea at 8/13 for the win while the draw pays out at a solid 11/4. Should Inter Milan be able to pull off a victory here (a draw would do it for them) they are rewarding at a 9/2 price. That’s quality odds on a team that could do some serious damage today.
In regards to the correct score odds, there isn’t much between the most likely selections, especially if you’re looking to back a draw. Chelsea to win 1-0 pays 11/2 while a 2-0 win pays 13/2. Chelsea to win 2-1 pays 7/1 while Chelsea 3-0 pays 10/1. A 1-1 draw pays out at 6/1 and I expect that to be a very popular option wit the neutrals.
The thing is, I have a feeling this one could turn into a goal-feast. Chelsea won’t fancy their chances of defending a 1-0 lead the whole time, so they will more than likely have to push on for two. An early goal changes the entire dynamic of the game, so I have a feeling that this one may favour the in-play punters. Extra time is also a distinct possibility and I would not be shocked in the least if we saw an extra 30 minutes.
Chelsea were more or less railroaded out of the Champions League last year with a referee who was either too biased to referee the match, or somebody who had been sent out with a clear set of instructions. I don’t expect this one to be labelled a “F*cking Disgrace” and I’m hoping there aren’t many controversial moments.
One thing that isn’t controversial is Didier Drogba’s form in front of goal in the Champions League. The Ivorian international has notched six goals in his last six appearances in the Champions League at Stamford Bridge. Drogba is 4/5 anytime and 7/2 first or last. He is 4/1 to score two or more and 20/1 to hit a hat-trick. Nicolas Anelka trades at even money to score anytime, but he doesn’t look to be the player he was last season. Salomon Kalou has been performing well as of late and he’s at 6/4 and 6/1. Michael Ballack will likely be deployed today and he’s listed at 7/2 anytime. John Obi Mikel trades at 12/1 and if he is on the team-sheet as a starter that may be worth a look.
Diego Milito is favoured to score for Inter, priced alongside Samuel Eto’o at 15/8 and 13/2. Goran Pandev and Mario Balotelli are 11/4 and 8/1 while Wesley Sneijder is well-priced at 4/1 anytime and 11/1 first or last.
Inter Milan are 16/1 to come from behind in this match and win it, while Chelsea are 7/1. Chelsea are 19/5 to win the first 15 minutes while Inter trade at 17/2. The draw is at 2/9 for the opening 15 minutes.
I have a feeling that a penalty will be awarded in this match. Usually William Hill prices them at 3/1 to be awarded, but this time around we’re looking at 5/2. That penalty is 16/5 to be converted and 10/1 to be missed.
