Chelsea vs Manchester United Betting Preview PT 2

The bookmakers seem to be convinced that Chelsea are the favourites here but they are by no means the odds-on favourites with a best price of around 13/10 being floated by several top bookmakers. It will be interesting to see how the odds shift around during the build-up to the match itself - particularly since it's the late fixture on Sunday so there will be plenty of punters either chasing a big payday or looking to recoup losses from earlier contests.

One can definitely assume the betting volume will be high in what is expected to be a rather cagey affair.

United come into the match with a price of around 27/11 and that makes them a really interesting wager if you fancy them to score the first goal. United have a tendency to concede early on and when they do it against top sides they tend to wind up chasing the match for the remainder of the 90 minutes.

The draw can be backed at a 12/5 listing and there's probably more than a few punters who are going to go in that direction. Both teams will be going for the three points here since United are well and truly out of the title race if they don't win this match-up against Chelsea.

The Blues require all three points in order to keep themselves in the hunt for Champions League football and, while United are in a better league position, Chelsea will view this one as an old-fashioned six-pointer.

This one could very well wind up being all about who's able to actually score the first goal and the bookmakers seem to think that Chelsea are going to open the scoring with in the in-form Tammy Abraham available around a 5/1 price to score first while Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud are priced just a step or two behind him.

You'll find Edinson Cavani is the favoured United player to score first with a 7/1 listing while Bruno Fernandes is priced at 38/5 to score first and nobody would be surprised to see Chelsea concede a penalty early (by VAR perhaps?) and Fernandes to step up and ram home the opener.
