CHELSEA VS MARSEILLE- BLUES HOT FAVOURITES TO CRUSH FRENCH OPPOSITION
Chelsea play host to French rivals Marseille tomorrow evening, in what the bookies are assuming will be a largely one-sided affair.
Chelsea will be looking to get back on track following consecutive defeats to Newcastle United and Manchester City respectively.
Chelsea will certainly be feeling the weekend's loss to Premier League title contenders with Carlos Tevez's second half strike condemning the Blues to their first league defeat since April
From Carlo Ancelloti's point of view the meeting with Marseille could not come any sooner, with the Blues desperate to get back on the winning trail after the disappointments of the last seven days.
The Blues are currently sitting at the top of Group F, and will run out hard on a night where anything less than a win will just not do.
On the team news front- Didier Drogba misses out as he continues to serve a three-match Champions League ban following his sending off in the defeat to Inter last season.
Salomon Kalou and Yossi Benayoun are still suffering from respective injuries and are unavailable for selection. England midfielder Frank Lampard is still struggling with a hernia problem and also not expected to feature.
Possible starting XI: Cech; Ivanovic, Alex, Terry, Cole; Essien, Mikel, Ramires; Anelka, Sturridge, Malouda.
Possible starting XI: Mandanda; Azpilicueta, Diawara, Heinze, Taiwo; Remy, Cheyrou, Gonzalez, Cisse, Ayew; Gignac.
Despite the two blips experienced over the past week, William Hill have Chelsea still heading into this clash as heavy favourites at 1.33. Marseille are long shots at 11.0
The real money to be made would be on the goalscoring odds with Nicolas Anelka odds-on favourites to score at anytime at 1.91- a great bet considering the lethal form the former French international is in at present.
Michael Essien is also a great viewing at 6.0- a great return on a very likely scenario.
For Marseille Loic Remy is tops to open the scoring at 11.0, and 4.0 to score at any stage in the game.
This game should be an entertaining one, as Marseille look to take advantage of some momentum gained over the past few weeks. Marseille's recent successive wins over Arles and Sochaux will have helped restore belief.
However, the fact remains that Chelsea are by far the most superior side here and will take this easily.
