CHELSEA VS PORTO 2009 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea side take to the field at Stamford Bridge as the 2/5 favourites to triumph over FC Porto. The Portuguese side carry a 15/2 price into this match while the draw is listed at 16/5.Chelsea are in the drivers seat according to the bookies and we can likely expect a confident performance from the Blues. I don't think it's going to be a gung-ho blockbuster-type of a match, but I can easily see a comfortable 2-0 victory in the cards. The handicap has been listed at -1 and you can back Chelsea (-1.0) at 6/5 with Porto (+1.0) at 17/10. I think that's a solid price on Chelsea as I think that Anelka will be able to trouble Porto's defence. In terms of the correct score betting, 1-0 and 2-0 are the favoured outcomes at 11/2 with Chelsea 2-1, 3-0, 0-0 and 1-1 all listed at 8/1. If Porto pull off a victory, it will either be 2-1 or 3-2 and you're looking at huge totals for both of those- 28/1 and 80/1, respectively. Should Chelsea be able to run up the score here, you're looking at a great payout should they notch four goals or more. 4-0 is 18/1 while 5-0 is at 40/1. A 5-2 score line pays out at 100/1. I think 1-0 to Chelsea at half-time is the right score and while 9/4 isn't exactly massive odds, I don't think they'll score two. Porto will try to keep it tight, especially during the first half. A 0-0 scoreline at half-time isn't a bad bet either and that's 12/5. Chelsea are 11/10 to score in both halves and 7/4 to win both halves. Should Chelsea score first and fail to win, you'll get paid out at 13/2 while Chelsea coming from behind to win garners a 7/1 payout. Chelsea are odds-on to keep a clean sheet at 8/11. Chelsea to win to nil is listed at 11/10. Joe Cole is available for the match and is listed at 2/1 to score anytime. I'll be having a sentimental bet on him, but I may opt for last goalscorer as I don't think he'll make the starting line-up necessarily. Anelka is at evens to score anytime while Frank Lampard and Salomon Kalou are at 11/8. Daniel Sturridge may get a run out today and is 13/8 anytime. Keep your eye on Michael Essien at 5/1 as I think he's in the right frame of mind at the moment. Overall, I'm backing Chelsea 2-0, but I would recommend keeping an eye on the in-play market should Porto notch an early goal. Even factoring a single Porto goal into a correct-score that goes in Chelsea's favour will garner a very solid payout. I fancy Givaldinho Hulk to score for Porto should they get on the board.
