CHELSEA VS WIGAN 2010 PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS

The equation is extremely simple for Chelsea; win and the Premier League trophy will be making its way back to west London after a three year abscond, lose or draw and you can be sure that Manchester United will be waiting to pounce.

A victory against Wigan would do more than secure the Premier League trophy however, with the FA Cup final to come next weekend, the domestic double would at long last draw a firm line under the Jose Mourinho era. The Chelsea fans could finally put their love affair with ‘the special one’ to one side and rejoice in the knowledge that they can win the game’s biggest accolades without him and thus step out of the shadow of his ego.
Although Wigan will be intent on spoiling the party – they have already beaten Chelsea once this season – Stamford Bridge has been a fortress for The Blues this season. 16 wins are accompanied by just one loss and one draw on home soil this league campaign, a firm foundation from which their championship challenge has been based.
And so, Betfair’s odds of 1.12 (1/8) on both the home win and Chelsea winning the Premier League title are short, but justifiably so. Wigan are a massive 30/1 but if you are really feeling the need to oppose Chelsea then 12.0 (11/1) on the draw is the most sensible of approaches.
Stoke were the last team to visit the Bridge and they certainly got the treatment from Chelsea as the Blues scored seven in a Premier League home game for the third time this season. ‘Seven goals or more’ can be backed at 18.0 (17/1) on Betfair for this game, but perhaps Over 3.5 goals at 2.0 (Evens) would be a more reserved approach.
And who will get those goals? Didier Drogba has now drawn level with Wayne Rooney at the top of the Premier League goalscorer chart and Bet365 offer 9/4 on him getting the first of the match and 4/9 on him scoring at anytime. But it is Frank Lampard, who now has 10 goals in his last eight games and can be backed at 7/2 and 10/11 with the same bookmaker, that should be carrying your money in this market.
It has been one of the most exciting Premier League seasons, both at the top and the bottom, in recent memory and if Chelsea can complete the job against Wigan I doubt that there will be many who will argue that the best team came out on top.
