CHELTENHAM RACES TOP FIVE BETS FOR DAY 3
It seems as though Ruby Walsh's epic day 2 at the Cheltenham Festival has brought an awful lot of financial pleasure back to the punters and they're rewarding him by backing him heavily. Like I've said before, day 1 belonged to A P McCoy, but day 2 is chalked up directly to Ruby Walsh, who has outperformed the competition so many times and looks to take it a few steps further tomorrow. He boasts a solid record on the chase circuit and last recorded a victory back in November at Punchestowns when he pulled out a deserved victory over Sizing Africa. I expect the ground conditions to suit his physique and Walsh certainly seems to know how to get it done. Voy Por Ustedes: Now that we've finally started to see some favourites win the odd race, the attention has turned to one of the Cheltenham Festival's biggest locks- Voy Por Ustedes in the Ryanair Chase. Listed at a relatively slim 11/10, this French number is well rated in the Chase races and wins more than 50% of the time. His last triumph came at Ascot back in February when he triumphed over Gwanako, who will have Ruby Walsh on top for this rematch. I like Voy Por Ustedes and I think at nearly even money, he is still a solid punt. Punchestowns/Big Buck's Reverse Forecast: Oooh, not a huge amount between these two with Punchestowns at 10/3 and Big Buck's at 6/1. But I will draw your attention back to the Byrne Group Cleeve Hurdle back in January when these two went the distance with Big Buck's just edging it in the end. Punchestowns is the more favoured horse, but Big Buck's knows how to win a race and he'll have Ruby on top as well. If I had to pick between the two, I'd say Big Buck's, but this one is too close to call and I don't see Kasbah getting it done here. Green Mile: Another Ruby Walsh selection makes the list as the punters begin to pile onto anything Ruby-related. I think this is one of the weaker bets on Ruby as Green Mile's record really hasn't been that great in the past few meetings. His last victory came at Downpatrick back in August against a field of 14. He's won before with Ruby on top, but that was last summer in the Gleneagle Handicap Chase. At 9/1 though, there's still plenty of value there for some. Perce Rock: A quality runner who has been in good for in his last two races, winning the Go Racing In Kildare Hurdle at Punchestowns and the Guinness Christmas Racing Hurdle at Limerick. He's won twice before with Tony McCoy on top and but that's going back nearly a year and a half. I think McCoy still has a few victories in him during this festival and I'm tempted to have a punt on him myself as I haven't paid a great deal of attention to the Festival Plate. Perce Rock can be backed at 9/1. Click here to get your FREE BET up to £100 from Blue Square!Click here to go to our complete Cheltenham Festival Betting Guide
