CHELTENHAM RACES: ZAYNAR AND WALKON TO CONTEST JCB TRIUMPH HURDLE
The JCB Triumph Hurdle is an absolutely fascinating contest that I expect to bring plenty of excitement and hopefully plenty of cash to Cheltenham punters across the board. This one is 18 runners deep and the bulk of the betting is being split right down the middle between two top-notch hurdle competitors- Zaynar and Walkon.

Coming out of the Henderson camp, Zaynar (4/1) is a mere four years old but boasts a 100% record in hurdles competition pulling off victories at the Execution Ltd Novices Hurdle and the Collingwood Team Services Juvenile Hurdle. In fact, Zaynar is at his best when racing in hurdles- it being the only place he's recorded a victory out of his five career races.
Walkon (9/2) will have Robert Thornton on the back for this race and this four year-old specialist has notched up several impressive victories during this national hunt season. Doubling up as a Flat Turf runner, this dynamic horse knows how to show his pace down the long stretches and I think the layout of this race suits him to a tee. Walkon brings both Grade 1 and Cheltenham victories to the table and his price puts him slightly behind Zaynar. I think Walkon is simply a more dynamic competitor and should gain lots of momentum from a win here to send him careening into the flat season.
Other notables include Master of Arts, piloted by Tom Scudamore, weighing in at a solid 11/2. A P McCoy is set to board Lethal Weapon who could be a value bet for some carrying odds of 16/1, while Ruby Walsh is on top of Mourad who boasts a 20/1 price.
I'm backing Walkon to take this whole thing. Don't even bother with the each-way. He's a banker.
