Cheltenham Spread Betting Preview
Jump Start"This should be an easy race to pick a winner for given that only a few horses have a realistic chance of winning. Clear favourite Monkerhostin is a fast improving 7 year old, currently showing festival winning form. He began to fulfil his potential over hurdles last year by winning the Coral Cup, so the terrain at Prestbury Park shouldn't pose him too many problems."Of the other horses worth considering, last year's winner Fondmort is a good shout. He has got plenty of experience in this race and is currently in great form. Despite the handicap, smarter punters will have a few quid on him. Celestial Gold is also in with a good shout. Trained by Pipe, this horse ran very well at the National Hunt Chase and clearly has enough speed to be competitive here."Thisthatandtother is also a very strong contender, despite being a novice. Currently regarded as the second favourite, this horse is well worth a punt at the right price. A good outside bet could be Le Duc, his 3rd place finish in the Arkle last year was very impressive and he has the talent to spring a surprise in this race. "Personally, if I was having a punt on the Cheltenham Cup my money would have to be on Monkerhostin, he has an outstanding chance and despite being the favourite his price is still good enough for a handsome return if he wins. On the other hand, I'll be betting against Farmer Jack; he has been plagued by injury problems of late and his form is simply not good enough coming into this race."
