Cheltenham Triumph Hurdle Betting Tips
An expert panel of tipsters weigh in on the Triumph Hurdle and provide their betting tips.Mick Fitzgerald "There is no doubt that Mountain is the best flat horse in the field and I was very impressed with him at Sandown. He has got some good, solid form in the book. I don't he jumped too well last time, but he did jump his hurdles rather big. AP McCoy tells me he's a very good horse and he was delighted with that run at Sandown because the horse won and he and Jonjo (O'Neill) still had something to work on. Don't underestimate him because the team behind him will have in great shape for Cheltenham. I'd also look out for Punjabi. I've ridden when I've made the running and this horse stays. He will handle the soft ground and has all the qualities needed to win a race like this. He can be ridden from off the pace and he's tough." Brian Flanagan "I think the favourite, Lounaos, is a class horse. She finished 8 lengths behind Hardy Eustace at Leopardstown in the AIG Champion Hurdle and that sort of form looks rock solid. In my opinion, Mountain had a tough campaign last year and that may count against him here. Lounaos is great value for this one." Derek Thompson "I lot of people are going to call me crazy, but I fancy a horse called Mobaasher to run a big race at a big price. He's a bit of a headcase but I think if he arrives at the Festival in the right frame of mind, he can spring a suprise" The Couch"With a big field for this race, there is a huge emphasis on good jumping in a big group. Horses that make mistakes with their jumping simply won't win a race like this. Punjabi jumps very well and I can't understand why he is such a big price." Jessica Harrington "For me this race is normally stick a pin in the racecard time but Lounaos has taken to jumps so well that i think she won't be beaten. she has the advantage of the 7lbs mares allowance which really tips the balance in her favour."
