COMPLETE 2010 SUMMER TRANSFER BETTING ODDS UPDATE AND TIPS

With just a smattering of top sides in action right now and even then most of those fixtures are against North American sides. The real action right now for Premier League fans is in the transfer market betting and it looks like there are still some big names ready to move. We’ll be examining the higher-profile selections and giving you our verdict on whether or not we think it’s worth a bet. Be sure to stay tuned to Betting Choice, as we’ll be running these odds down on the daily until the transfer window snaps shut.
MESUT OZIL TRANSFER ODDS
This is one of the transfers that looks to be a question of where as opposed to if. Skybet is pricing Manchester United at even money to be Ozil’s destination with City trading at a 6/1 price. They also have Real Madrid at 6/1 and Chelsea/Arsenal at 8/1. Paddy Power sees it a bit differently though and he’s at 9/4 for Bayern Munich, 5/2 for United and 7/2 for Arsenal. I think he would fit right into Fergie’s system and would be a good replacement for Anderson or Carrick. At a rumoured price of £10 or £15 million, I think he’ll be a good shout to move.
Verdict: Mesut Ozil to be named United's last acquisition of the summer.

CESC FABREGAS TRANSFER ODDS
It looked, at one point, like Cesc was literally on his way out the door- you can’t send bigger signals than being photographed in the strip of the team you’d like to move to after you win the World Cup. The word around the campfire at Real Madrid is that Fabregas has too much love for the Arsenal fans and likely will be staying at the Emirates for at least another year. Betfair has him odds-on to stay at 1.65 while he is 2.5 to move anywhere. Skybet have increased his odds to 6/4 to join Barca.
Verdict: Fabregas will line up against Liverpool on opening day.
FERNANDO TORRES TRANSFER ODDS
This is the big story right now as Roy Hodgson’s recent comments effectively poured gasoline on the smouldering embers of Torres transfer talk. His injury looked to have previously ruled him out of a move anywhere but the news that “Torres’ beef is with the club not” you really have to see him heading for the exit door at this point. I think the only thing that will keep him from leaving is a titanic transfer fee that only City would be willing to pay. I think he wants out of the Premier League but Skybet prices him at 1/3 for Chelsea and 7/2 for City. Barca are 10/1 and Real trade at 16/1. Inter Milan would make sense but that’s a lengthy 20/1.
Verdict: I think he wants to go… The question is who has the money.
JAMES MILNER TRANSFER ODDS
This one has been unfolding for quite some time and I’m really not sure what the hell is taking so long. Either Milner wants to go or he doesn’t. Personally, I think he’s headed for City at a big price but Martin O’Neill seems determined to keep him. I know that Randy Lerner generally will trust O’Neill’s opinion so I don’t think it’s the board trying to force this one through either. It’s not like they need the money. I ultimately think Milner will get his way though. He is a microscopic 1/10 to go to City and 7/1 for Chelsea. Betfair has him at 5.0 to remain and 1.2 to leave. This one looks done and dusted.
Verdict: Milner a Citizen.
ASHLEY COLE TRANSFER ODDS
I think that Cole desperately wants out of England and is looking to escape the media while being reunited with Jose Mourinho. I think he’s a great fit for Real and I think that Jose is biding his time here. Chelsea obviously don’t have to sell, but I think he may try to force the transfer- especially if Torres winds up at Chelsea. He is 1/7 to move to Real Madrid and 20/1 to move to Barca. It looks like Real or bust for Cole.
VERDICT: Tough one. If Torres moves to Chelsea I think he’s out the door.
