DARTS BETTING: PHIL TAYLOR OUTRIGHT FAVOURITE AT 2009 PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP
Another exciting Darts tournament is set to kick off and all the usual suspects are jockeying along for top positions at the Players Championship of darts. As usual, Phil "The Power" Taylor is sitting at the top of the pile to win the tournament outright, listed at a straight 1.5 to take the victory. Just behind him is perennial challenger Raymond van Barneveld who will be looking to unseat The Power as the de facto winner of nearly every major darts event. You can back Barnet at 7.5 with Blue Square. A fairly big field is contesting this one and you're looking at a lot of long odds for a number of top players. While we all pretty know that barring any major upsets, Phil Taylor will find himself in the final, Blue Square are offering up an enticing option on each-way bets. You can back a player each-way to finish in the top 2, which basically means you can back somebody to face off against Taylor in the final. With the odds for everybody but Taylor and van Barneveld in the high teens or low twenties you could make some serious cash if you make the right call, especially if you don't think van Barneveld has what it takes. I'm an avowed fan of Adrien Lewis and I'm tempted to drop a few quid on an each-way bet at 34.00. That's basically 17/1 for Lewis to make the final. James Wade is 17/1 or 8.5 on an each-way to reach the final. You can even get 3.75 on van Barneveld to make the final which, considering the epicness of another Phil Taylor/Raymond van Barneveld finale, is more than worth the punt.
