Dazzler won't sparkle say VC Bet

VC Bet say they are delighted to see persistent punter support for Darren Clarke at this week's Dunlop Masters. The mercurial Ulsterman, with a recent penchant for dodgy tartan trousers, has been backed down from 9s to 7/1 to post yet another win on the Forest of Arden track. "He's a two-time course winner but it's a decent looking field packed with potential winners in my opinion," said VC Bet's Richard Friend. Friend cited Clarke's last two outings Stateside as reasons to make the Dungannon-born 36-year-old an industry top opening quote. "I'd also be very concerned at how Clarke fell apart at the recent MCI Heritage when seemingly uncatchable. "He also blew the chance of putting real pressure on the leaders at the Houston Open a week later as he found trouble late on in his final round." Nick O'Hern (28s to 25/1) is currently the firm's second best backed player with Raphael Jacquelin (40/1) and Thomas Bjorn (25s to 22/1) also well supported. The experienced golf compiler tipped up Brian Davis as man capable of maintaining punter interest right up until the 72nd hole. "He's looked very handy Stateside and is well capable of mixing it in this company."
