January's Deal or no Deal saw some great shows and, of course Laura Pearce's spectacular win. Read on or to play Deal or Deal now at Ladbrokes gamesMonday 1st January, Frank RyanFrancis ('Frank') Ryan, from Liverpool has been married for 36 years and has two grown up children. To start the new year, he had a poor first round opening £35,000, £10,000, £5,000, a blue £500 and finally £100,000. The banker's first offer for this first day of a fresh new year was, understandably, £2007. Frank came back with NO DEAL.Round 2 began with box 21 opened by Laura containing 50p. It looked like Frank's luck was changing but unfortunately this was followed by £75,000 and £15,000. The Banker's second offer doubled to £4014. This still wasn't tempting enough for Frank who responded with NO DEAL.Frank had a more reasonable round next knocking off £20,000, £50 and £1000. Still not perfect. However, the Banker, sticking to his trend, doubled the offer again. Frank rejected this offer of £8028 with another NO DEAL. Next finally came an all blue round - Frank eliminated £5, £10 and 10p! The Banker's fourth offer doubled again to £16,056 AND he added on another £2007 to that resulting in a final offer of £18,063! Did this tempt Frank? Absolutely not - NO DEAL!As luck would have it Frank then startled us all by whacking out another all blue round! This time £250, the dreaded 1p and £100 went. The banker doubled again to a whopping £36,126. Frank, wanting to start the New Year with his dreams in tact couldn't miss out on this life-changing amount of money and finally went with DEAL. It turned out that Frank dealt at just the right time - In the hypothetical next round, Frank opened boxes containing £50,000, £1 and £250,000. He would have been back where he started at an offer of £2007. Frank's final box did in fact contain just £750. What a great way to start the New Year!Sunday 7th January, Laura PearceTo read all about Laura's fantastic, jack-pot winning game, Monday 8th January, Craig CollierCraig Collier, a 30-year-old plumber from Stirling in Scotland, had a mixed first round to his game. He started with box 1 opened by Bunney containing £15,000. This was followed by £100, £50,000, £75,000 and £50. Craig's first offer was to swap his box - NO SWAP.Round 2 began with box 6 opened by Stuart containing £1000. Next came £500 and then £35,000. Bizarrely, the Banker once again offered only a swap. Craig again went with NO SWAP. Round three was bettter for Craig, opening boxes 10,19 and 14 containing £250, £750 and £3000. The Banker AGAIN offered only a swap. What on earth was he playing at?! Still echoing his previous choices, Craig went with NO SWAP.Round four saw Craig knock out the almighty £250,000, £5000 and a smaller £1. Finally the Banker came in with some solid dosh and offered £15,000. This wasn't tempting Craig either who, for the first time in his game, responded with NO DEAL In round 5 Phil revealed £100,00. This was followed by £5 and 1p. The Banker's offer plummeted to £5000. Holding out for more, Craig went with NO DEAL.With two reds and three blues left, there was a lot to lose but Craig soldiered on. In the sixth round he lost £10,000, 50p and 10p. Phew - the highest remaining red, £20,000, was still in play. With this in mind, Craig rejected the Banker's final offer of £7,500. He opened his own box, 8, to reaveal? £10! Gutting. The final box was opened by Sarah, revealing the hidden £20,000Tuesday 9th January, Nicola DarbyNicola, a professional singer and dance teacher with an extrovert personality had a reasonable first round eliminating three blues and two reds - 50p, £10,000, £10, £5,000 and £750. The Banker's first offer was a measly £1965. Nicola responded with NO DEAL. Round 2 was better, starting with box 14 opened by Peg containing £250. This was followed by box 1 opened by George containing £1000 and then box 16 opened by Leanne containing £100. The Banker's offer increased dramatically to £20,000The third round was equally pleasing for Nicola. Although she started it badly with £15,000 going. The next two amounts gone were £50 and 10p. This resulted in the Banker's offer leaping up to £35,000. Not wavering yet, Nicola again opted for NO DEAL. Round 4 started well, losing £50. This was followed by a bit of a blow though as two of the power five went out - £35,000 and the second highest amount, £100,000. With the jackpot still in play, the offer remained the same though at £35,000. With some security gone, Nicola realised that this offer was too good to miss - DEAL!It turned out that Nicola dealt at the perfect opportunity as in the next round went £20,000, £75,000 and the big £250,000. The offer would have dropped to £10,000. After another round knocking out two blues and a red, the offer would have upped to £17,500. Nicola may have won a life changing amount of money but she failed to beat the banker as her box was opened to reveal £50,000.Friday 19th January 2007, Sarah Astbury'Psychic Sarah' (as she became to be known!) a freelancer costume maker & barmaid, had a disappointing first round. Starting well, she eliminated £750 and £1 but this was followed by £75,000, £3,000 and £100,000. Was she as psychic as she made out? The Banker's offer reflected this with a chance to swap her box, but no money. Sarah accepted the swap - box 3 for 21.Round 2 began with box 13 opened by Georgina containing £35,000. This was followed by box 15 containing £20,000 and box 12 containing £5,000. Another disappointing round for Sarah. The Banker's offer came in at £3,333 - Perhaps seeing that the future of the game held more for her, Sarah went with NO DEAL. In round three, Sarah knocked out £15,000, £1000 and finally a blue, the lowest one at that, 1p! The Banker increased his offer to £8,888. Still holding out, Sarah chose NO DEAL.Finally, round 4 bought what Sarah was hoping and probably predicting - an all blue round. Out went £500, £250 and £50. Sarah, who doesn't believe that things happen twice in row, rejected the offer of £14,999 which was exactly the same as jackpot winning Laura's fourth round offer - NO DEAL. Would history repeat itself here? Round 5 once again started positively with the £5 going, this was followed by £10,000 and 50p. The Banker's offer came in at £36,400. Having pushed her luck so far, psychic Sarah cut her losses and went with DEAL. How would the rest of Sarah's game been though? In round 6, Sarah eliminated £50,000, £100 and in box number 3 - Sarah's old box- was 10p! The Banker's offer would have been £50,000 (which was £5k less than lucky Laura was offered at this point). Sarah claimed she would have dealt. Sarah's box, 21, was opened to reveal?.the £250,000! If only psychic Sarah had stuck to her guns, she would have been the second jackpot winner in Deal or No Deal history AND the second in a month!Wednesday 24th January 2007, Julie WorsleyJulie, a one time Playboy Bunny, had a great first round eliminating four blues and one red - £500, £10, £50,000, £1 and 1p. The Banker's first offer came in at £12,500. Julie went with NO DEAL. Round two wasn't as positive as Julie chose boxes 7, 15 and 16 containing 3 reds - £20,000, £15,000 and £5,000. Surprisingly the offer went up to £17,500. Even under these generous circumstances Julie went with NO DEAL. Round 3 began with box 17 opened by Richard containing £1,000. This was followed by £35,000 and then £50. Again the offer went up - to £23,500. With the three highest amounts still in play Julie still opted for NO DEALRound 4 began with a bit of a blow as Bunney opened box 4 to reveal the quarter million. Luckily this was followed by £5 and £750. However, with the jackpot gone, the Banker's fourth offer dropped to £13,500. Still NO DEAL though. Round five was back to Julie's high standard as she chose box 11 containing 50p. This was followed by £250 and a low red, £3,000. Reflecting Julie's spell of luck, the offer went up to its highest yet of £27,500. Brave Julie decided to battle on - NO DEAL.The last full round saw Julie lose the highest remaining red she had, £100,000 succeeded by 10p and £100. Although losing the £100,000 was a blow she'd managed to whittle the last two figures to £10,000 and £75,000 - both being a tempting sum of money! The Banker's final offer came in at £36,000. Deciding to carry on to the bitter end, Julie uttered for the last time, NO DEAL. She was offered the swap but having had luck by her side so far she stuck with her box 22? and it did indeed contain £75,000. What a courageous game from Julie, now one of our top ten highest earners! Friday 26th January 2007, Stella Selby Stella, mum of 18 month old Ebony and a part time sales executive, played a fantastic game. Her first round consisted of 3 blues and 2 low reds: £1, £5,000, £100, £500 and £3,000. The Banker came in with a massive first offer of £13,500. Stella went with NO DEAL. Round two appeared to be almost sent from Heaven as Stella eliminated £50, 1p and £750. The offer almost doubled to £25,000. Even after such a high second offer, Stella went with NO DEAL. Round 3 saw Sarah's luck continue with two blues and a red gone: £10, £20,000 and £5. The offer came in at £32,123 and again Stella opted for NO DEAL.As the fourth round began, could Stella's amazing luck continue? Apparently not as an all red round followed. However, as red round's go, it wasn't all that bad: The lowest red, £1,000, went and this was followed by £10,000 and £15,000. The power five was still in tact. The Banker, noticing this, upped his fourth offer to £50,000. Striding forward, Stella chose NO DEAL.Round 5 began with box 11 opened by Daniel containing 10p. Surely this lucky cycle had to break??And that it did as the next two boxes were £50,000 and £100,000. Echoing his last offer, the Banker stuck at £50,000. Delighted at a second opportunity to claim this large sum of money, Stella finally went with DEAL. It appeared that Stella dealt at the perfect opportunity as next came 50p, the giant £250,000 and £75,000. The offer would have slumped to £15,050. When it came down to the two, Stella's box contained £35,000 and the final box £250.Wednesday 31st January 2007, Jonathan Charles BunneyJonathan, known to many as 'Bunney', is a Church Organist and Peripatetic Music Teacher. He is single and lives in a Catholic Hostel in London with lots of Nuns! Bunney's chosen box was number 5 as this was the card chosen by psychic Sarah earlier on in the show. Would her psychic vibe effect Bunney's game now? Lets find out.He had a mixed first round opening boxes 2,4,8,16,and 3 to reveal, £35,000, £10, £15,000, £1,000 and 1p. The first offer was £16,000. Bunney went with NO DEAL. In the second round Bunney unfortunately lost two of the power 5 and also a blue - £75,000, £250 and £10,000. The Banker's offer was £20,000 AND?some cherry lip balm! As tempting as this offer was Bunney still went with NO DEAL. Round three was better for Bunney as he eliminated £50, £5,000 and 50p. The Banker's third offer was £26,000. Undeterred, Bunney continued with NO DEAL. Round 4 began with box 22 opened by Jack containing £750. This was followed by £1 and £5. The offer rocketed up to £42,000. Again, Bunney went with NO DEAL. In the next round, poor Bunney lost three reds - £3,000, £50,000 and £100,000. The Banker's offer was reduced to, a still reasonable, £31,000. Bunney was still keen to play on and chose NO DEAL.With two reds (one being the jackpot) and 3 blues in play, Bunney appeared to be pushing his luck. Incredibly, at this vital stage of the game, Bunney pulled an all blue round out of the bag! £100, £500 and 10p. The only remaining blues had gone! The last two on the board were £20,000 and £250,000. The Banker offered £110,000. Not wanting to quite literally 'push his luck', Bunney went with DEAL Now for the spooky bit - If Bunney had been offered the swap he would have swapped box 5 with the remaining box, 12. This was because he had seen the remaining box 12 in his dreams as the one containing £250,000 and had also played the DOND interactive game where the £250k had been in box 12. Agonisingly, box 12 did indeed contain the jackpot! A spooky end to a spooky (and lucky!) month on Deal or No Deal.Source: dealornodeal.com
