DENMARK VS JAPAN LATEST ODDS AND BETTING PREDICTIONS
The Japanese face a must-win situation today against the Danes and it looks like one of the best opportunities they've ever had to write their name in footballing folklore.
Denmark are definitely the favourites for this one and you'll find them priced at 2.1 for the outright victory while Japan can be backed at an enticing 3.5. That's a great price if you fancy the Japanese. The draw is trading at 3.3 and thats where it gets interesting.
Because Japan are ahead by a goal on goal difference, then obviously a draw would favour them. This more or less means that Denmark need to win the match as each team taking a point each from a draw would see them both in 4 points, but Japan would the superior goal difference.
The bookmakers don't expect a massively high-scoring game, but I could see it being more open than they might think. Both sides need to go for it and Japan know that they can't beat Denmark without scoring goals. I think the Danes have a nice blend of youth and experience even though they don't boast the flashiest of names.
Nicklas Bendtner knows that this match is there for the taking and he's priced as the 2.2 favourite to score a goal at any point during the fixture. Soren Larsen is priced at 3.25 alongside Danish warhorse Jon Dahl Tomasson.
For Japan, they'll be looking to Keisuke Honda at 3.5 or Shinji Okazaki at an identical price. Takayuki Morimoto is listed at 4.5.
If you fancy over 2.5 goals then you can lock in a 2.2 price. Under 2.5 goals pays out at a slim 1.61. I don't really think either of these sides have defensive units to write home about so it may pay dividends to back a higher-scoring affair. I certainly think its plausible.
A red card in the match is priced at 3.4 while a penalty to be awarded and scored is priced at 3.0 and 10.0 to be missed.
I think that the first goal here is crucial and Denmark are odds-on at 1.72 to score it. Japan are listed at 2.37, while no goals in the match is trading at 8.0.
I think that Japan could be the surprise package here, but they will need to play at 110%. I think that a higher-scoring match favours them, but a 1-0 result would likely go Denmarks way.
