Didier Drogba Favoured To Start Against West Ham
Luiz Felipe Scolari called Didier Drogba as "one of the best strikers in the world" after he scored for Chelsea coming in as a substitute in their Champions League game against CFR Cluj last night. The fact that Drogba scored within 7 minutes of getting on the field and Scolari's statement after the match, has led Irish Bookmakers Paddy Power to make him odds on to start against West Ham at Stanford Bridge on Sunday. Chelsea have not been faring well at home matches and this game would now give them confidence as they take on West Ham next in the English Premier League game. Drogba last scored a Champions League goal way back in April against Liverpool. There have been talks of him leaving the club and Inter being one of the suitors. However, with the backing from Scolari and his return to form with the winning goal should lay those rumours to rest now. Chelsea really need some consistency in their Enlish Premier League campaign and Drogba can be a big factor in ensuring that. The only thing Scolari now has to worry about is getting in both Drogba and Premiership top scorer Anelka together. However, with yesterday's performance, Drogba is hot on the comeback trail at Stamford Bridge. Paddy Power expects him to be part of the plans of Chelsea on Sunday as they look to secure full 3 points at home against West Ham. Paddy Power is offering 4/7 for Drogba to start against Hammers on Sunday and 5/4 for not doing so.
