DIEGO FORLAN ODDS AT 8/1 FOR MANCHESTER UNITED TRANSFER
With Manchester United’s season having a bit of an underwhelming tinge to it already, the rumours are now beginning to fly that Sir Alex Ferguson may be ready to do something drastic to solve United’s issues.
Former Manchester United fan favourite Diego Forlan, a great bloke who looked to be a victim of right-place/wrong-time, is being bandied about as a possible remedy for United’s lacklustre string of performances. Truth be told, you’d be forgiven for thinking that United’s main issues lie in their lack of an outstanding midfield playmaker as opposed to another striker.
The Diego Forlan transfer could also raise a number of question marks over Wayne Rooney’s future at United. Surely it doesn’t make sense to have Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, Michael Owen, Federico Macheda, Javier Hernandez and Diego Forlan- unless Fergie plans to start playing a direct 4-3-3.
This likely means that Michael Owen may be looking at a January move to greener pastures and, while he’s been a contributor at United since joining- scoring some key goals, he wants to be playing regular football and he just isn’t going to get that at Old Trafford.
There are a decent slate of odds available on Diego Forlan’s transfer and he is favoured to move to United’s cross-town rivals if he goes anywhere. Manchester City are trading at 4/1 with Skybet while Tottenham are trading at a 7/1 price.
Manchester United’s odds to sign Forlan trade at 8/1 while a move to Chelsea is available at a 10/1 price. A move to Real Madrid, Barcelona and Arsenal are all listed at 14/1 while Aston Villa trade at 20/1.
