Ecuador vs England Friendly Match Betting Preview
- By A.J. Ryder on June 4, 2014 17:50 GMTIt’s going to be a very interesting fixture as England take on Ecuador in the United States shortly. There is a lot to like about this fixture as England seem to have built up some momentum after their last friendly at Wembley. It was relatively unimpressive stuff early on but then they kicked on to produce a late flourish with two nice goals from corners both scored by England’s central defensive partnership.

It has been a while since England were able to really produce things like that on the regular but that style of play will always be associated with vintage Three Lions sides of old.
As it currently stands, England will probably deploy a very different formation this time with Roy Hodgson likely to use this as an opportunity to play a few players in different positions. It would also be quite likely to see England potentially try a few different formations or even get a bit tricky. They may switch to 4-3-3 at some point and it will be very interesting to see how they could cope with that type of thing - particularly against a tricky side like Ecuador.
The South Americans always have to be respected and they will certainly offer up something a bit different to what they have been playing against during qualification. There is every chance that they push forward here and really try to give England a match - you can expect them to have a fair amount of support as well but there will still be a majority of fans in full voice for England.
Right now you’ll find England trading at about 1.85 to get the outright victory while Ecuador can be backed at a 4.33 price tag. The draw is available at 3.40 and there’s a lot to like about that price, particularly if you think that the draw could be in play thanks to Ecuador really throwing caution to the wind.
One gets the feeling that if they really come at England, potentially sneaking the first goal against the run of play, they might be able to unsettle them and at least get a draw - particularly with certain players being played out of position.
