Sterling has a habit of going missing in big matches and it’s a real wildcard for him to be starting every match.
You get the feeling that Sterling might be able to make a better substitute than a starter at the 2018 World Cup.
Jamie Vardy is the next best-priced contender and he has every chance of making a big impression and there would be no finer story for the Three Lions fans to get behind. Vardy is likely to be the first chance striker but you reckon there are a few teams - Belgium in particular - who might struggle against his ability to get behind defenders.
Marcus Rashford would be another big story and he’s been frustrated a bit at the lack of action sent his way at Manchester United since Alexis Sanchez has joined the side. He is still priced at single digits to be the top English goalscorer at the 2018 World Cup.
Dele Alli is rounding out the top five contenders and he has been in the goals lately and can hopefully carry that forward into the summer.
