ENGLAND V PAKISTAN 5TH ODI BETTING
England and Pakistan’s tainted summer of cricket will draw to a close this evening with on-field matters poised in the balance. The visitors have hauled themselves back into the five-match ODI series by winning the last two meetings and now the winner of this final match will claim the final triumph on the field of play.
Two match winning performances from Umar Gul have pulled Pakistan from the depths of despair in this series and have forced the bookmakers to show more respect in their pricing up of this decider. Whereas before it was not possible to back England and much higher odds than 1/3 we can now generally get odds of 1/2 and even odds of 8/15 with Stan James.
Off-field activities may have dominated the news stories surrounding this series but with on-field tensions running high we are certain to be in for a thrilling conclusion at the Rose Bowl tonight.
The third round of the Carling Cup also concludes tonight with Manchester United travelling to Scunthorpe for the evening’s live televised game. Sir Alex Ferguson is set to make a whole host of changes to the side that played against Liverpool at the weekend, with the likes of Michael Owen, Bebe and Javier Hernandez likely to get a run out.
Scunthorpe should provide a stern test for their visitors but are hampered by the loss of their manager just ten days ago. Caretaker Ian Baraclough takes charge for only his third game in football management and they don’t come much tougher than United.
The Championship side are 15/2 with Victor Chandler to cause an unlikely upset whilst you can get 2/5 about an away win and 15/4 on the draw that would take the game into extra time and possibly penalties.
