It probably not a huge surprise that most European books have England listed as the significant favourite to win this one and with the promise of Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge looking likely to start up front as the first-choice strike partnership, Roy Hodgson has been very confident about England’s chances.
The 0-0 draw against Ukraine may have seemed underwhelming to many, but it still left England with every chance to secure automatic qualification to the World Cup. Topping the group sends England through to Brazil next year while a second place finish would see them forced to tangle in a play-off this November. The specter of extra fixtures and, potentially, a very tough opponent waiting for them would really be a tricky scenario for Hodgson’s men and they remain in the drivers’ seat to pull this one off.
Punters will find England trading at a slim 1/3 price tag to win this one and you do reckon they should be able to get the job done at Wembley in front of the home fans - who will likely be in full voice for the Friday night fixture. The draw, which would definitely suit Montenegro, would reward at a 19/5 price tag while the visitors are paying out at a hefty 9/1 should they get the result - a disaster for Hodgson and the English side.
Montenegro have scored in nearly all of their last few fixtures and with Joe Hart looking to start in goal, many English fans may be vary that the Three Lions could ship an early goal and put themselves on the back foot.
You can lock in a solid 3/1 price on England to win and both teams to score in this match.
