ENGLAND VS SLOVENIA BETTING TIPS
England face Slovenia in a friendly match on Saturday in what should be a dress-rehearsal for their battle with Croatia next week. Betting on friendly matches against weaker opposition can be difficult as the scoreline is never usually as high as it should be and you're never sure if your goalscorers will get subbed off to make way for a debutante or journeyman international. England are massive favourites though, there's no doubt about that with Stan James listing their odds at 1.17 for the outright victory. A draw in the match pays out at 6.0 while Slovenia to pull off a dramatic upset is listed at 13.0. England to win both halves is a very slim 1.44 while draw/England pays out at 4.5. The correct score betting is where the money is here and if England can score more than 3 then you're looking at a tidy payout. Currently, the favoured outcome is 2-0 England at 6.0. A 1-0 victory is 7.0 while 2-1 pays out at 9.0. A 3-0 win is listed at 7.0 while 3-1 would pay out at 11.0. A 4-0 margin is an enticing 10.0. Throw a Slovenian goal in there and your 4-1 score line will garner a 15.0 price. One of the odds that they have listed that I'm jumping all over is the time of first goal market. If Slovenia allow a goal before the 27th minute you're looking at 1.83. England to win the first half is listed at 1.4 while a first-half draw is at 3.25. A Slovenian victory in the first 45 minutes is listed at a lengthy 11.0. Another interesting market is the Which Half To Have The Most Goals market which places the 1st half at 3.0 and the 2nd half at 2.1, the tie pays out at 3.25. I personally find that the opening 45 usually contains more goals, therefore I think the 3.0 is generous. Wayne Rooney is the big favourite to score first at 4.5 with Jermain Defoe just behind at 5.0. Peter Crouch is paying out at 6.0 while Carlton Cole, Steven Gerrard and Emile Heskey are all listed at 7.0. Rooney is odds-on to score anytime at 1.91 with Defoe available at 2.1. Crouch is at 2.38 while Cole, Heskey and Gerrard are all deadlocked at 2.63. I will be keeping my eyes on Glen Johnson at 6.5 and Aaron Lennon at 3.75 (Ashley Young is listed at the same price and is worth a look). I'm backing England 4-0 and 4-1 for some insurance with goals from Rooney (first), Defoe, Young and Lennon. David Beckham is an interesting in-play option.
