ENGLAND VS SLOVENIA STARTING LINEUP AND LATEST BETTING PREDICTIONS
We've got a few confirmed changes in the England lineup for today's crunch fixture against Slovenia. Jermain Defoe start up front with Wayne Rooney- ending the Emile Heskey presence in the striker position. Joe Cole didn't get the start I had assumed and I get the feeling that Capello probably has him ear-marked as a potential game changer.
Here are the starting lineups for England vs Slovenia:
Slovenia: 1-Samir Handanovic; 2-Miso Brecko, 4-Marko Suler, 5-Bostjan Cesar, 13-Bojan Jokic; 10-Valter Birsa, 8-Robert Koren, 18-Aleksandar Radosavljevic, 17-Andraz Kirm; 9-Zlatan Ljubijankic, 11-Milivoje Novakovic.
England: 1-David James; 2-Glen Johnson, 15-Matthew Upson, 6-John Terry, 3-Ashley Cole; 16-James Milner, 4-Steven Gerrard, 8-Frank Lampard, 14-Gareth Barry; 19-Jermain Defoe, 10-Wayne Rooney.
Popular UK bookmaker Ladbrokes has England priced at 1.44 to win today's match. The price is unchanged over the past few days. Slovenia is priced at 7.0 to win the match while the draw can be backed at a 4.33 price tag.
Wayne Rooney is trading at 1.8 to score a goal at any time and that makes him the only player in the match to be trading at an odds-on price to score a goal. Jermain Defoe is trading at 2.37 while Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard are both at 2.75.
For the Slovenians, they will be looking to Zlatan Ljubijankic and Milivoke Novakovic are both priced at 5.0 to score a goal at any time.
The over/under on goals is at 2.5 and the under is just favoured at 1.8 while the over trades at a 1.9 price tag.
Personally, I think we're going to see a few goals here and I think this England team will be well fired-up for this. They know all about the pressure and they know that England expects. I reckon they'll get the job done here, even though it may not be pretty.
