ENGLAND VS SOUTH AFRICA 2ND TEST DAY 4 TIPS

Despite an impressive all round performance from England, this game is in danger of fading out into a second consecutive draw. The positive for the tourists is that they are in no danger of losing this test as they were in the first and they have been in complete control pretty much throughout.
The challenge for the batsmen on the morning of the fourth day is to start putting runs on the board quickly. At 386/5 they have a 43 run lead, and if they can push that up to around the 300 mark by the end of the Afternoon session then they will have a good four sessions to bowl at the South Africans.
England can be backed at 3.35 to take a 1-0 lead in this series, whilst the more likely draw is available at 1.48 and South Africa’s chances are reflected in their big price of 30.0.
The England 1st innings runs market may provide a little more immediate interest, and the market seems to believe that England will notch up somewhere between 500 and 525 runs. 525 runs or more can be backed at 2.1 and I believe that could be a good bet, Ian Bell looked in good form and both Stuart Broad and Graeme Swann will be given licence to let loose when they come to the crease, another 139 runs look likely.
And given the way Swann performed when allowed a similar licence in the 1st test – hitting  a quick fire 85 including two sixes – I think that the 4.3 available on him to score a 50 in this innings is worth a small interest bet.
Attention will then turn to the South African batsman and Graeme Smith is the favourite at 4.4 to be their top 2nd Innings run scorer. However, Jacques Kallis who looked in good touch in the first innings is my pick of The Proteas batsman and you can back him at 5.2 in this market.
Getting the first test on the board is extremely important and if England could win this they would put South Africa firmly on the back foot. One down with two to play is not desirable situation for any team.
