ENGLAND VS SOUTH AFRICA 2ND TEST DAY 5 TIPS
After one of the most incredible sessions of the year, England look poised to end an Ashes-winning 2009 in style as they could very well put one of the best test teams in the world to the sword on the final day of tomorrow's second test.
Not many would have predicted this, but with Graeme Swann getting things started and then Stuart Broad stepping up- South Africa are facing a colossal task to draw this series. They will be looking to the heavens for rain tomorrow as they require over 150 runs to force England to bat again, while they can only give up 4 more wickets.
England were listed at 5/1 to win the test on day 3, 3/1 to win the test at the start of the days play on day 4 and they are currently listed at 1.06 to win on day 5. South Africa are an implausible 101.0 while the draw trades at 8.0. If you're looking to bet against England, take that draw and do a rain dance- it's likely your only option.
Mark Boucher and Morne Morkel will be taking strike early on and Ladbrokes has listed Morkel's over/under at 21.5 runs while Boucher trades at an over/under of 42.5. Boucher sits at 20 runs while Morkel has knocked a mere 7.
Morkel is widely-expected to be disposed of first with a 1.57 price for 7th wicket telling no lies. Boucher pays an enticing 2.25 and he'll be the one tasked with trying to actually notch a few here and there so that may be an interesting bet.
The Saffers are sitting at 76/6 and the over/under on the 7th wicket is currently at 98.5. It is interesting because we know South Africa won't be padding up to too many deliveries tomorrow- they paid the price twice today with key wickets taken off in-swingers from Broad.
England look set to make a very big statement tomorrow. Only the weather can stop Strauss & Co. now.
