ENGLAND VS SPAIN BETTING TIPS
Spain remain the favourites in their friendly-match against England this week, but undefeated England definitely have a point to prove during Wednesday's fixture. Currently, Spain are listed at 11/10 to take the outright victory while England are listed at nearly 3/1 with 13/5 odds. The draw pays 9/4. There is a fair amount of value on this game with every option in the 1X2 paying better than evens. Paddy Power has made things even more enticing by offering up a unique money-back special for the match. If a Liverpool Player scores the last goal in the game then they'll be refunding all correct score, scorecast and 1st/last goal scorer bets. With question marks over Steve Gerrard's fitness, your saving goal would likely have to come from either Xabi Alonso or Fernando Torres who likely won't play. Unless Pepe Reina somehow scores, I can't see this one ringing true. Additionally, I think England are overpriced here. Despite Spain winning the Euro 2008 tournament, I think they flatter to deceive. Puyol pulling out of the fixture will also create some complications for Spain and it is obvious that their team is short of full fitness. In terms of wagering, I think some of your best odds are sitting in the Half-time/Full-time market. I can't see much happening in the first half of the match so I'm expecting a draw at the interval. After that, I expect England to come at Spain with much more creativity and intent than they've demonstrated previously. I fully expect England to win this match and make a real statement. The bookmakers favour a half-time draw and I think England will put the burn on and nick the game in the 2nd half. If England can keep David Villa contained and ensure that Xavi has a difficult game coming out of midfield, I am confident that this is the type of game that England can now be expected to win. I'm backing Gabriel Agbonlahor to score anytime at 4/1.
