ENGLAND VS SWITZERLAND BETTING PREDICTIONS: WAYNE ROONEY AND JERMAIN DEFOE
Fabio Capello is declaring that Jermain Defoe and Wayne Rooney are set for something spectacular tonight as England face one of their trickier ties in the Euro 2012 Qualifying Group. The Swiss have proven that they can match up against quality sides and if England slip up even a bit then they could easily lose this one if Switzerland play to their potential.
I reckon Wayne Rooney will be eager to put on a show tonight and he'll be looking fill the headlines with his goalscoring exploits instead of evidence of his poor taste in women. Seriously folks, £1200 a night for that bird is just a bad piece of business.
Wayne Rooney's odds to score at any point tonight are priced at 2.25- an identical price to Jermain Defoe. Both players are priced at 26.0 to grab a hat-trick during the match and taht would be a rare feat from Defoe, notching back to back hat-tricks in qualifying.
England to win to nil is looking like a tidy price and you can back that at a 2.75 listing. Joe Hart has been performing so well that a shut-out performance here would be considered entirely plausible. If you fancy a bit of a stalemate, try England to keep a clean sheet at 2.25.
A red card to be shown at any point in the match is listed at 4.5 and Switzerland are odds-on to to be shown the first card with a 1.8 price.
If you fancy England to run away with this one and win it by some distance, try backing them on the handicap as that's where you'll find some of the tastiest odds. England to win the match (-2.0) is listed at a solid 8.5. England to take the (-1.0) victory is listed at a 3.4 price tag.
The big question here is who scores first- Rooney or Defoe? Personally, I think with both players listed at 5.5 it's really a one or the other type of deal as it doesn't make sense to back them both. I think today is going to be Wayne Rooney's day and I reckon Defoe would normally be a good choice for last goalscorer but he may not play the full game due to fitness or lack thereof. I imagine we'll see a full 45 from Defoe at least but the likes of Darren Bent or Carlton Cole wouldn't surprise me in the least.
