ENGLAND VS USA 2010 WORLD CUP PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS
This is the big one and that's saying something as day 2 of the 2010 World Cup was about 10,000 times more exciting than the first day. England vs USA is a match that only comes around once a lifetime on a stage like this and the English-speaking world is virtually shutting down as literally everybody is expected to be taking this one in.
It goes without saying that England are the distinct favourites with popular UK bookmaker Ladbrokes pricing them at odds of 1.5 while the USA are trading at a distant 7.0. The Americans revel in their underdog status and they know that winning this match isn't 100% essential to their survival as they should be able to beat out Slovenia and Algeria.
For England, on the other hand, they cannot lose this match. The pressure is on, and very few countries face pressure like the England side do.
Wayne Rooney is priced at 1.8 to score a goal at any time and many folks have been predicting that Rooney will score a hat trick in this match. I wouldn't put it past him, he's definitely capable of it, but I have a feeling that Rooney will be looking to take some chances, but also bring others into play. If he's paired up front with Crouch then I definitely think Crouch is a good chance to score.
Wayne Rooney trades at 4.0 to score the first or last goal of the match while Peter Crouch can be backed at 6.0 while Jermain Defoe sits at a 7.0 price tag. Frank Lampard is in excellent form and tends to take England's penalties so he's a good shout to score at any time as I could see the Americans giving one up. This tournament is due a penalty kick.
Joe Cole is also worth taking a look at with an 11.0 price to score first. If you're looking for serious value, try Glen Johnsson to score first at 34.0- you'll also find Ledley King at an identical listing.
For the Americans, they've got Landon Donovan and Clint Dempsey priced at 11.0 and 13.0 to open the scoring. It's going to be a very interesting one today, but I think that England should take this one comfortably. The only chance the Americans have is to shut off all service to Wayne Rooney and force him to drop deep to pick up the ball himself. Capello is a wily fellow though and he will have a strategy ready for the USA, as well as a plan b and c.
