ENGLAND VS USA 2ND HALF WORLD CUP 2010 BETTING TIPS

England really got things off with a bang today as captain Steven Gerrard slotted one past a hapless Tim Howard as England capitalized early in what was a very odd first half, all things considered. Robert Green will be lucky to still be out on the field for the second half and, frankly, I don't feel comfortable with him out there. That was an utter howler on the biggest stage. Bring on David James.

England didn't actually play all that well or attack with a huge amount of precision, but its been an effective performance with a few good chances. There hasn't been a lot of build-up though as a lack of a holding midfielder is giving the Americans a lot of space in the middle of the park.
The substitution of James Milner was understandable as he was on a yellow and looked like he was having a tough time out there. Perhaps it was nerves, but to me that demonstrates the tactical superiority of Fabio Capello. Steve McLaren would have left Milner on and he probably would have gotten sent off.
It really shouldn't be 1-1 at half-time, but England are paying the price for a lack of control in midfield.
I should reiterate that Robert Green should not expect to play any more matches. He was even tested in any of the American chances and he blew a save that a schoolboy should be able to handle.
It's importat to remember that England are still heavy favourites to take this one with a 1.72 price from popular bookmaker Ladbrokes. The USA are trading at 7.5 to win the match while the draw looks increasingly likely at a slim 2.62 price. England haven't had much luck in the first half and the Americans are doing a good job of forcing Rooney to drop too deep.
I would keep my eye open for Peter Crouch to come on and give England a bit of extra dynamism in attack.
