ENGLAND VS USA WORLD CUP 2010 LATEST BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS

We've got a few interesting variables ahead of us as we all await the starting lineups for the England vs USA match at the World Cup. We had two solid fixtures today and, as I predicted, South Korea managed to top the underwhelming Greece. Argentina beat Nigeria but it could have been a very different story if the African side hadn't been so wasteful in front of goal.

The USA are going to be a challenge for England, especially early on in the match, but I can see England scoring first, regardless- it may even come against the run of play. The big issue in the opening 20 minutes is whether England can get enough service to Rooney and his strike partner, which many assume will be Emile Heskey.
In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised to see England start 4-5-1 with Joe Cole out wide on the left and Aaron Lennon on the right. I think this would nullify the Americans in midfield and if Rooney can exploit any defensive lapses then England likely won't struggle to score. Wayne Rooney is priced at 1.83 anytime with Stanjames.com.
It's sort of surprising that the Gerrard/Lampard debate hasn't been bigger, but a lot of folks are wondering how this will pan out. Personally, I think you need to play Lampard in a more advanced role behind Rooney and not so much play Steven Gerrard as a holding midfielder but as a deeper-lying playmaker. Frank Lampard boasts odds of 2.75 to score at any point in this match.
I don't see England starting with a defensive midfielder, but Capello may shuffle to one if the Americans are finding space in front of the England goal. John Terry will need to produce something akin to a captain's performance, despite not being captain. He knows that people are watching so I don't expect him to be particularly wasteful. John Terry is priced at 8.0.
All in all, England need to keep the service flowing to Wayne Rooney and exploit the Americans vulnerability on the flanks. Pacey wingers will be key here and I think that the Americans will look to play a bit of a long-ball strategy early on and try to get their strikers in behind England. I think an early goal for the English will help, but the second goal of the match is the key one.
