England vs Wales Match Preview
A lot of Welsh football fans have been waiting for this one for a long time, and the Welsh players will need very little motivating. Mark Hughes will have them pumped up, ready and willing??.but maybe not particularly able. Wales won't go down without a fight admittedly?.and with Robbie Savage not playing?we might get away with it. But Wales haven't exactly set this group alight and you feel that they might not be good enough to get anything from the game. England as a team could be just too strong for them. The odds reflect this. At Stan James we bet England 2/5, The Draw 14/5, and Wales 6/1. England, with a full squad, have become a formidable team. Their defence is tight, the midfield is packed with talent, and Wayne Rooney is simply different class. The boy wonder is 11/10 to score at anytime, and a tempting 4/1 to score first. What they mustn't do is turn up at Old Trafford thinking that it's a foregone conclusion. I'm sure they won't. England 3-0 is 8's and 4-0 is 18's and these are distinct possibilities. But what's the chance of Wales causing an upset? It won't be for lack of trying. One thing in their favour is the fact that the players are familiar to each other. They'll have played with them and will know their strengths and weaknesses. The Welsh boys will not be star struck, that's for sure. At 6/1 they could be seen as a decent price in such a competitive game, because for all intents and purposes, it's a derby game and a leveller. But looking at the England team, you have to feel that they are becoming stronger by the game. The handicap price of them looks a tempting bet at 11/10 (-1 goal), because if a goal went in early??they could do a demolition job on the Taffs. Wales have suffered a bit with injuries and suspensions, and Hughes imminent departure could have more negative implications than positive ones. It will be a great day whatever?.and the atmosphere will be electric. There are a whole host of bets on the game at stanjames! Enjoy.
