ENGLAND VS WEST INDIES TEST MATCH BETTING TIPS
It seems as though it's been months since the last time England played a competitive test match. And while things in India were certainly interesting, I didn't really find it was that enticing or enthralling of a competition if you were paying exclusive attention to on-field events. After a few opening matches against Trinidad and a West Indies A team, England finally step up against Chris Gayle and the boys in an attempt to get the momentum working in their direction ahead of the Ashes series this summer. In terms of the outright betting on the first test, England are the favourites, listed at 11/10 contrasted with Windies 5/2. A drawn match will pay 21/10. If you're looking at Draw No Bet, you'll see England at 8/15 and Windies at 11/8. Two of the world's top batsmen, Shivnarine Chanderpaul and Kevin Pietersen are both considered the favourites to cobble together a 1st innings Century. Current world player of the year Chanderpaul is listed at 5/2 contrasted with Kevin Pietersen's 11/4. I consider either of these a solid bet, but I'm a bit more enticed by Andrew Strauss' 7/2. Chanderpaul is also considered to be the favourite for top match runscorer, listed at 9/2 with Pietersen just behind at 5/1. Captains Strauss and Gayle both sit at 6/1.
