England vs West Indies Test Series Betting Tips
After an extremely convincing early performance in the three-day opening fixture, England remain favourites to dominate their test series against the West Indies. Totesport, an excellent site for cricket wagering has backed England at 4/7 to secure the outright test victory. You can also back them at 5/6 to win both the Test Series in the West Indies and the return fixture on English soil. A drawn series pays 3/1. The four test series can also be bet on in terms of correct score. If you're backing an England sweep (4-0) then you're looking at 12/1. A 3-1 English record pays 8/1 while a 2-0 England win (which would involve two cancelled fixtures) pays 11/2. Top batsman is another enticing English market and Kevin Pietersen is backed at 2/1 as the outright favourite to score more test runs. Andrew Strauss comes in just behind at 4/1 while Alistair Cook is 9/2. Owais Shah is backed at 11/2 while Paul Collingwood sits at 15/2. I'm confident that Shah and Collingwood will each see action and anybody who's going to score more test runs needs to play in every match. Keep your money on Andrew Strauss who looks in good form with the bat. You can also back them each way on the first two places at 1/3 the odds. After taking four wickets in the opening warm-up fixture, Monty Panesar looks a bargain at 9/2 to take the most wickets, especially with Andrew Flintoff the current favourite at 11/4. Question marks remain over his fitness and he is expected to be ready for the first test, but whether he'll be able to dominate the bowling as well as batting and fielding at 1st slip remains a pretty tall order. Ryan Sidebottom is also backed at 11/4 and if he gets off to a quick start is your smart money after Panesar. Stuart Broad could also surprise at 11/2 who represents much more value than the misfiring Harmison who is backed at 7/2.
