ENGLAND WORLD CUP ODDS CUT AFTER DRAW – ENGLAND VS USA JUNE 12
What a group this is going to be- what a summer this is going to be! England were handed a very light draw in the 2010 World Cup Group Stages and things are looking even better for the second round. With Germany likely to win their group with ease, England will face one of Ghana, Australia or Serbia in the next round. England look spot on for at least a quarter finals position and this has resulted in UK bookmaker Ladbrokes dropping England’s price by a whole point- currently at 6.0.
The English are the second lowest-price team after Spain, whose incredibly soft opening group saw them retain their 5.0 listing and status as tournament favourites. England have leapfrogged over Brazil in the betting markets and the Samba Boys trade at 6.5 with Ladbrokes. Argentina continue to be listed at 10.0 while the majority of all the other prices have remained the same.
England can’t blame a tough group or a tough draw for any failures here. Right now the only thing that can take this away from us is injuries or just not showing up to the tournament. We need all our top players firing on all cylinders, but we couldn’t ask for a better group. No more excuses.
England vs USA is going to be an incredibly-contested fixture and it kicks off our Group on June 12 in Rustenberg. England then take on Algeria in Cape Town on June 18th and the final match, likely a dead-rubber, against Slovenia on June 23.
The group odds have just hit Betfair and England are currently trading at 1.15 to top their group with the USA listed at 3.2. Slovenia are 5.2 while Algeria command a 4.2 price tag. England are a miniscule 1.02 to qualify.
