There doesn’t seem to be a whole heck of a lot to play for in the English Premier League so far this season aside from the Champions League spots and the relegation fight - which could actually wind up being especially interesting heading into the final weeks of play.

There is plenty to like about the league’s shape heading into the following season and it remains to be seen whether we will see something entirely new from Arsenal’s style of play next season as they now seek a new manager following the departure of Arsene Wenger.

Manchester United have been able to hang tough for this year and despite an early exit from the Champions League, and always being a day late and a buck short when they could have made a mood on Manchester City in the table, they remain poised to improve for manager Jose Mourinho heading into the 2018/19 English Premier League season.

It was said by Mourinho that he was going to need a couple of years to truly turn this into a world-beating side.

You have to think that if big signings like Paul Pogba and January purchase Alexis Sanchez had really played to the full expectations of the fans and the back room staff then it could have been a slightly different story at the top of the English Premier League table.
