Liverpool are another that looks to be improving and set to make a big statement in the following English Premier League season. You can bank on them to continue playing their swashbuckling style of football under Jurgen Klopp and they remain a difficult side to play against no matter where they are.

And that leaves Manchester City as the side with a whole lot left to play for next year. Manager Pep Guardiola deserves all the plaudits this season and their ability to turn those 0-0 draws into 1-0 victories in the dying minutes of many matches proved to be the decisive factor.

They were able to pull something out of matches that United and Chelsea just couldn’t find the missing puzzle piece to.

You can only expect the team to play even better next year and you have to assume that there will be one or two new faces coming in over the summer as Guardiola will be looking to add strength in depth.

It’s probably not a fantastic surprise for anybody that Manchester City are still the odds-on favourites to win the English Premier League during the 2018/2019 season. It’s also fascinating when you look at how the bookmakers have stacked up the odds on the chasing pack behind the east end of Manchester.
