English Premier League Betting Preview

There's going to be more than one team looking to get things back on track this weekend in the English Premier League and Manchester United face a tricky away clash with Everton – a fixture certain to provoke an interesting scenario for former toffee Wayne Rooney. Sir Alex Ferguson's men are considered the odds-on favourites for the win and that might have more to do with their first team getting a mid-week Carling Cup break as opposed to any outright form.

After getting humiliated by arch-rivals Manchester City by a 6-1 margin in last weekend's feature contest, United will be under some real scrutiny. Ferguson described the City result as his worst ever loss. That should resonate with the United first team. Expect a tactical shuffle against Everton and a United side on the lookout for a back-to-basics type of victory.
Everton are 4/1 to pull off a much-needed home result while the draw is priced at a reasonable 9/4. United must take all three points here to stop the bleeding.
Another extremely interesting fixture is between two giants who both seem to be on the way down for various reasons. Chelsea vs Arsenal may still be one of the best derbies out there but the simple fact is that neither team is expected to challenge for anything more than a Champions League spot. Arsenal in particular have been grinding out results and relying on individual performances more than anything else.
Chelsea are priced at 4/6 for the outright win while Arsenal are trading at a lengthy 5/1. This one really could go either way depending on how the opening 45 minutes shapes up but Chelsea will be disappointed if they don't get the result over an Arsenal side that has been scraping by in the Premier League so far this season.
Swansea have an opportunity to put some distance between themselves and the relegation zone as they face off against Bolton this weekend while Manchester City are hefty favourites over Wolves.
