English Premier League Betting Preview Part 2
- By A.J. Ryder on September 12, 2013 18:08 GMTAway fixtures at Stoke, particularly in less desirable weather, can always be a tough match-up for anybody. Look for the 14/5 draw to look a sharp in-play wager if City just don’t look up to snuff.
Sunderland also play host to Arsenal in a match that has a similar look from a betting perspective to the aforementioned fixture. Sunderland are the 9/2 underdogs despite playing at home and Arsene Wenger’s men (now featuring the talents of Mesut Ozil) can be backed at 4/6 for the away victory.

Arsenal looked dour in their opening day loss to Aston Villa at the Emirates but they have kicked on nicely since then, drawing a lot of confidence from destroying Fenerbahce in a tricky two-legged tie to qualify for the Champions League proper. There is a lot to like about the addition of Ozil and you reckon that will have given the dressing room another boost.
Spurs are the significant favourites against Norwich and they are listed at 4/9 to get the job done. The Canaries will be looking to rally here and put in a good performance and the 13/2 odds may tempt some true believers. The 16/5 draw also looks a decent wager, but Spurs should be in the driver’s seat for this one.
Everton face Chelsea in a fascinating fixture that could prove to be a memorable encounter. Jose Mourinho makes his first trip back to Goodison Park after his European sojourn. The Toffees are an 11/5 shout while Chelsea can be backed at a 5/4 price tag. The draw sits at 23/10 and, if Chelsea can get an emphatic victory here, they will be looking extremely confident going into the next round of fixtures. Everton away is never an easy match-up and Chelsea will likely eek this one out late - perhaps by a mere 1-0 scoreline.
